2009 FCA Bowl Breakfast @ The Roady's Humanitarian Bowl - Boise, Idaho Tuesday, Dec. 29th - 8 am - Boise Center on the Grove
Come join us Tuesday, December 29th at 8am for the FCA Bowl Breakfast. We'll have athletes and coaches speak from the Western Athletic and Mountain West Conference teams playing in the Roady's Humanitarian Bowl as well as FCA President, Les Steckel, our Keynote speaker.
Veteran NFL coach Les Steckel is the seventh president and CEO of the Fellowship of Christian Athletes. Steckel's extensive involvement with FCA dates back to 1972 when, as a college football coach, he attended his first FCA conference. In the 37 years since then, Steckel has served as Huddle Leader, platform speaker, camp dean, football clinician at various FCA Camps across the nation and served regularly as a guest speaker for FCA events.
His 23 years of coaching experience in the NFL includes serving as head coach of the Minnesota Vikings and offensive coordinator for the Tennessee Titans, whom he helped guide to the 2000 Super Bowl. He also was an offensive coach for the New England Patriots during their 1985 Super Bowl season.

Community Ministry
The dramatic growth of club, league and church sports, presents a significant opportunity for FCA. The FCA Community Ministry includes our non-school-based FCA Ministries which are made possible through partnerships with local churches, businesses, parents and volunteers. To address this opportunity, we've established many sports-specific ministries with FCA including golf, lacrosse, baseball, motocross, fitness and endurance.
These ministries not only reach out to the community, but also allow the community to invest in athletes and coaches.
Community Ministries include: Stewardship Ministries, Adult Ministries, Sport-Specific Ministries, Membership, Urban Initiatives, Global Sports Development, Clinics, Product and Resource Development, and Professional Athlete Ministries.
FCA Parent Booster Clubs
FCA Parent Booster Clubs - We have an opportunity for Parents to serve in their local area by forming an FCA Parent Booster Club for their High School or Middle School. This group would meet once a month. There would be 3 main purposes in gathering: 1. Pray for the Coaches at their school. 2. Pray for the Athletes at their school. 3. Pray for the FCA ministry at their school.
The above objectives center on prayer to our Father for the coaches & athletes at their local schools. The FCA Booster Club is welcome to do more like: * Provide food for student-athlete huddles & events. * Help provide FCA Resources (Bibles, devotionals etc. for the FCA ministry at their school). * Transportation to Church & FCA events. * FCA Summer Camp Scholarships. * A supportive role to the FCA Huddle Coach & Student Athlete Leaders at their schools.
